A One Day Course – Introduction to Silverpoint Drawing

Learn how to make silverpoint drawings like the old masters.

Silverpoint emerged in the late Gothic/early Renaissance era and was used by master draftsmen such as Jan van Eyck, Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Dürer and Raphael, continuing with Rembrandt into the 17th Century.

By the end of this course you will be able to create delicate, lasting drawings, characterised by this traditional fine line drawing technique.

You will learn how to prepare paper to make it suitable for the drawing. And through a series of drawing exercises, you will build your confidence drawing with a silver stylus.

All Levels. Beginners welcome.
