Mondays

On this printmaking printmaking introduction course beginners will gain an introduction to a range of processes. Once confident in the techniques you will begin to develop your ideas. Students with experience can extend their knowledge and explore their creativity. Developing your personal projects with expert guidance from a tutor.

Explore and develop your art work using traditional printmaking methods with a contemporary approach. Draw and make prints from a live model, exploring the shape, tone, and lines of the human form. Each week you’ll create a print to take home.

At the end of the course have the option to exhibit your work. Showcase the prints you created during the course and develop an understanding of how promote and market your work.

Techniques covered: lithography, etching, aquatint, open bite, soft ground etching and mono-printing with mixed media, linocuts or woodcut – including printing with colour plates.

All levels of experience welcome.

Course Materials

Please bring these materials with you when you start the course:

  • Sketch book
  • Pencils
  • Apron / old shirt

Inks and some other materials are supplied. Please bring cash with you to pay for lino, etching plates, scribers, etc. which you can buy from your tutor.
