12 Saturdays
This course introduces you to some of the traditions and innovations of still life painting. The ‘hands on’ approach to the subject matter is intended to increase confidence and individual control in each student’s own work. Assistance and support is available throughout the day. Some previous experience of oil painting will be necessary. Intermediate /advanced level.

Materials List
Please bring these materials with you:
Oil paints (artist’s range) 38ml tubes
• Alizarin Crimson
• Ultramarine blue
• Cadmium Yellow
• Titanium White Do bring other colours if you have them, these might include yellow ochre, venetian red and ivory black.
• Low odour thinners (also sold in school shop)
Please only bring low odour thinners with you or buy them from us. For health & safety reasons we do not allow the use of white spirit or turpentine at Heatherley’s.
• Bristle brushes size 3, 5, 8 (either round, flat or filbert)
• Large tear-off or wooden palette
• Dippers / Jar
• Palette knife
• Kitchen roll / old rags
OPTIONAL:
• Purified Linseed Oil
• Apron
