Sculpture from the Figure
This course is designed for those with some limited experience of clay modelling. It will help you to build your confidence and enjoyment working in clay directly from a life model.
Your tutor will demonstrate how to make small scale studies in projects from a female and a male model. You’ll learn how these sculptures can be informed by referring to the human skeleton and muscle structure.
Work will be discussed and evaluated as we go along and we will look at the way sculptors have represented the human figure in 20th and 21st century art.
For a small additional fee you can have your clay work fired in a kiln. This will enable you to keep and display it for years to come.
