The Post-Diploma Course in Figurative Painting is an exciting and challenging one-year course. It’s intended to offer a period of development and transition between graduate studies in figurative painting or portraiture and starting out on your own as an independent artist, a difficult period for student painters to negotiate. The fundamental aim of the course is to give well-rounded support in dealing with the inevitable challenge of selecting painting as a life-choice activity and embarking on a career as a painter.
Eileen Chamberlain studied at The Heatherley School of Fine Art, graduating from the Portrait Diploma in 2020 and the Post Graduate Diploma in Figurative Painting in 2022. Se did her foundation at Wimbledon College of Art (1973 – 1974) and has two BA Hons in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design (1992-1997) and West Surrey College of Art and Design (1974 – 1975).
She also has a PGCE in Art and Design, The Institute of Education and has worked professionally in education as a Teacher of Art working in inner city London schools.
