Christoforos Savva: Unbound, curated by Marina Christodoulidou, is the first ever show for the pioneering Cypriot artist in London. The exhibition takes a close look at the connections between Savva’s early works and his signature works, ranging from paintings to cement reliefs, yfasmatographies and pin reliefs. The coexistence of genres and the wide range of themes and references that appear in the artist’s body of work are only part of the reason why Savva is widely acknowledged as one of the most groundbreaking Cypriot artists of the 20th century.
Η έκθεση Unbound του Χριστόφορου Σάββα αποτελεί την πρώτη παρουσίαση έργων του καλλιτέχνη στο Λονδίνο, σε επιμέλεια της Μαρίνας Χριστοδουλίδου. Η έκθεση αποσκοπεί στο να φωτίσει τη σύνδεση μεταξύ των πρώιμων έργων του Σάββα στο Λονδίνο (1947-55) και αντιπροσωπευτικό σώμα έργων του που εκτείνεται από τη ζωγραφική στα ανάγλυφα με τσιμέντο και από τις υφασματογραφίες στα ανάγλυφα με καρφίτσες. Η συνύπαρξη των ειδών και το εύρος των θεμάτων και αναφορών που παρουσιάζονται στο έργο του Σάββα είναι μόνο κάποιοι από τους λόγους που ο καλλιτέχνης θεωρείται ευρέως ως ένας από τους πιο πρωτοπόρους Κύπριους καλλιτέχνες του 20ού αιώνα
