Description

Portrait Sculpture

This course will introduce you to the techniques needed to make sculptural portraits working from a model.

You’ll learn how to make a portrait sculpture in teracotta clay and how to cast it in plaster.

Learn how measuring from life will help you to create a powerful representational image. The first part of this course will help you to understand  the anatomical form and structure of the human head. The second part will allow for a freer approach to modelling a portrait, with the experience of knowledge gained from the measuring process.

Laura is a classically trained figurative sculptor, following the Italian tradition. This course give’s you the opportunity to learn classical techniques, providing a foundation for developing your own style.
