Figurative Sculpture

Tutor: Rob Turvey | Fridays 10am – 4pm | 12 weeks

This course introduces essential techniques for sculpting the figure or portrait from a life model. Over the term, you will work with three models, each posing for three to four weeks, allowing for in-depth study and development. Using terracotta clay, you’ll learn to employ measuring tools, develop a strong understanding of proportion, and refine your modelling skills. You will be guided in the use of a variety of sculpting tools to help cultivate your own style. Additionally, you’ll be shown how to prepare your sculptures for firing in the kiln, which is available at an additional cost.

Suitable for all levels of ability. Students are required to some of their own materials and should refer to the materials list below before their course starts. (#FR44)
