Description

Through drawing and painting exercises, colour demonstrations, talks and discussion we will explore some of the fundamentals of painting, including tone, colour, temperature, light, spatial relationships, composition and pictorial structure and rhythm.

We will work on a series of still life studies leading into a more sustained painting, always with the freedom to experiment and revise.

The ‘still life’ genre is a wonderful vehicle both for personal vision and for formal experimentation. You will be invited to bring in some of your own things that you might like to paint. There will also be a variety of still life objects provided by the school.

This course is suitable for those who have some previous experience of painting in oils.

Tutor: Claudia Carr
