Saturdays (3 days)

Whether you want to cast a sculpture made during a part time course undertaken at Heatherleys, or you simply want to learn the basics of casting, this course is designed to provide you with an understanding of mouldmaking processes and the principles behind them.

Using plaster de paris, you will prepare a waste mould from your own piece and then learn how to replicate it during our three-day workshop. This course is designed for beginners as well as intermediate students. Students are encouraged to bring objects of their own they wish to cast. Alternatively, there will be objects available for casting in the studio. Objects cannot be bigger than a life size head (average 2 part mould).

On the third day of the course, there will be time for going through finishes and patination.
