Description

Explore Mindfulness Through Playful Art

Explore the fundamental concepts of the ancient practice of Sati, most commonly known as mindfulness. Learn through discussions, guided meditations, mindful movements and creating art.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t consider yourself an artist, or even especially creative. This course is all about process and exploration, rather than the final product and outcome.

We’ll use expressive and playful art to examine the extraordinary power found in observing and being aware of the present moment as it unfolds around us. We’ll practise attending to our immediate experience with kindness and compassion.

Mindfulness is a therapeutic technique, but also so much more than that. It can reduce stress and anxiety, and spark creativity. More broadly, it will give you a sense of presence in your life, enabling you to live your life more deeply and at ease in the midst of what it is.

Learn foundational skills of mindful living

  • root yourself in the present moment through guided meditations and body movements based in Qi-gong
  • how working with breath and body awareness can transform stress and anxiety
  • how to cope better with challenging thoughts and emotions
  • greater concentration and focus
  • art practice as a path to mindfulness

About Ignacio

Ignacio is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. In early adulthood, he travelled extensively in India, Japan and South East Asia, journeys that accelerated his visual exploration of what is hidden inside all of us. It was at this time that his art expanded into meditation and a deeper study of spirituality.

Over the years he settled in London, gained a degree in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts. He intensified his mindfulness practice, went on retreats, started volunteering and trained with Breathworks Mindfulness.

Ignacio is a practising artist and an accredited mindfulness teacher in the UK.
