Summer Courses

Heatherley's School of Fine Art
Chelsea. Established 1845

Heatherley’s was one of the first art schools to offer classes in July and August and has now been running successful summer courses for many years attracting students from all over the world. This year for the first time we are holding the summer courses at our new premises, a purpose-built art school at 75 Lots Road, where we will be located from 1st June 2008.

Our summer courses programme continues to emphasise the importance of drawing as an essential foundation for the development of ideas encouraging students to explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to visual imagery.

We offer a professional yet friendly working environment and our aim is to provide you with both helpful criticism and personal attention. The tuition is matched to your individual needs and experience and therefore we are happy to welcome applicants of all abilities.

Each course has a defined set of aims and objectives and by selecting a range of courses you will be able to create a useful portfolio of work. This folio may form the foundation of future vocational study.

Heatherley’s new studios have excellent north east light and have been purpose built to an exacting specification. The school is situated in the west of Chelsea close to the River Thames and Chelsea Harbour, with London’s museums, galleries and theatres within easy access.

The courses are Monday to Friday (except Course 19 which is five successive Saturdays) from 10am – 4pm and cost £195.

For details of accommodation in the area please see General Information.
