Art Lab
Creative Life Drawing with London Drawing at Heatherleys
Saturdays: 4 Feb, 3 March, 31 March, 28 April. £50 per session.

London Drawing was set up in 2005 by two artists, Anne Noble-Partridge and David Price, with a shared ambition to make life drawing classes more relevant and exciting to a modern creative public. London Drawing has developed a reputation for producing high quality drawing experiences and have worked at some of London's most inspiring venues, including Tate Modern, Tate Britain, The V&A, The Barbican Gallery and Battersea Arts Centre. Heatherley's is pleased to introduce their most current project — a series of bespoke Saturday classes held here in the Chelsea studios over the Autumn period. Participants will experiment with new materials and drawing processes in a series of individually tailored classes designed to push participants into new directions, build confidence and encourage artistic autonomy.

This brand new series of exciting workshops with London Drawing, presents the human figure as inspiration to help you unlock creativity and learn to think like an artist.

During these Saturday workshops you will be encouraged to lose your inhibitions though a wide variety of practices and materials. You will be asked to confront your own ambitions within your artistic practice and to consider how to make your work relevant to yourself and to contemporary artistic practices in the wider sense.

Each session will be taught as a 'stand alone' class but will work together to form a comprehensive and valuable course. Sessions will concentrate on a new approaches to thinking and making. We will look at the work of living artists and explore relevant themes and practices. You will be encouraged to engage with new concepts and practices and to try a wide variety of differing materials - some traditional, others less so.

You will be encouraged to work with the skills that you already possess. We will not teach you 'how to draw' but rather aim to enable you to fully engage with and realise your own creative potential, develop your own artistic language and build up confidence in your own artistic identity.
