Jason Bowyer Joins the Heatherley Team

We’re pleased to welcome Jason Bowyer to our team. His wife Claire Ireland has been teaching ceramics here for the past few years and now Jason will be teaching a regular drawing masterclass on Thursdays as well.
He says of his own practice ’My paintings come from an emotional, visceral response, ideas of light and visual tension.
I enjoy the craft and conceptual challenge of painting, the process of building layers to create images.
My desire is always to find the essence of a subject using the constant element of observation, painting and drawing places and people, trying to follow the path that is my own abstracted vision’.
Jason is currently President of the New English Art Club and is an elected member of The Pastel Society and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
