Paulina Pluta - RBA Rising Stars 2016

Congratulations to Paulina Pluta who has made it to the semi-finals of the RBA Rome Scholarship competition.

Her work will be on display with other Rising Stars at Lloyd’s Register from the 12th of February to the 10th of March 2016.

Mark Davies, Vice President of the RBA says ’In this exhibition, the Gallery@LR and the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) are showcasing some of the most talented young artists of today and tomorrow.

For the second time we have brought together works from schools, sixth forms and colleges as well as art school graduates from all over the country. This exhibition gives an overview of the strength and depth of artistic ability, combined with intrinsic flair and creativity, that exists through Britain today.

The work of the younger artists has been complied by both the National Association of the Decorative and Fine Art Societies (NADFAS) and the Dover Federation for the Arts (DFA). The graduates are the semi-finalists competing for the Rome Scholarship offered by the RBA - this will enable the winner to spend a month at Sala Uno, a prestigious gallery in the centre of Rome where board, lodging and gallery workshop space will be available. This year we are grateful to Alitalia, who have kindly offered to sponsor the winner’s return flight.

We are also indebted to Michael Portillo, who has kindly offered to open this exhibition for us.

We hope that some of the young people exhibiting in this show will progress to become valuable members of the RBA in the future and will continue to produce exciting work to inspire and delight their audience.’
