A steadfast commitment to the teaching of traditional skills

Heatherley offers three full time courses.

• The Diploma in Portraiture
• The Diploma in Figurative Sculpture
• Continuing Studies / Portfolio Course

The Portfolio Course
A one year programme of art and design projects for students who wish to progress to courses in further and higher education.

The Diplomas in Portraiture and Figurative Sculpture
Both diplomas enable students to take an intensive course in painting and sculpture with the human figure as the central theme. The courses are of two years' duration and are for students who have already completed a degree course or have equivalent prior learning experience.

Continuing Studies / Portfolio Course
A student-centred pattern of study particularly suitable for students with their own learning objectives.
A comprehensive series of part time courses is also available for all students. (see Part-time)

Part Time Courses
The
Open Studio allows for a flexible pattern of attendance throughout the academic year. A range of tutors lead six day projects of drawing and painting from the life and portrait model.
For students who wish to attend a particular day or evening class, subjects can be studied at greater depth in twelve-session courses.

Part time students at Heatherley’s enjoy a friendly working atmosphere and we accept students of all abilities over 17 years of age.
