'We are delighted to present ‘Drawing Matters’ - an exhibition of drawings made by our staff, alumni and friends of the school. It's a great opportunity for us, not only to be able to display a wide range of approaches to this activity but also to underline our firm conviction that as artists, and as teachers, drawing lies at the heart of everything we do. As an art school celebrating our 170th birthday this year we are able to take this message from our own history. We regard the task of passing on the fundamental skills of drawing as of paramount importance, perhaps more so than ever in this age of digital technology. But above all, we love drawing!'
- Veronica Ricks, Principal
